Hello! My name is Kristen Lyrek and I am a certified Speech Language Pathologist and founder of GROW Speech and Language located in Saint Paul and surrounding areas. I have a passion for working with young children and I am glad you are here!

I have dedicated the majority of my career working in a variety of pediatric settings from inpatient pediatric care, outpatient clinic services, and early intervention school services. This has given me a well-rounded understanding of what successful pediatric intervention looks like. I feel strongly that a positive relationship with your child and gaining their trust are vital to success in therapy. I am passionate about providing parents and caregivers with the tools they need to implement realistic therapy strategies in their child’s daily life. My goal is to not only progress your child’s development, but to help you feel confident in your ability to do so as well!

I grew up in Oklahoma, which is why you might hear an occasional twang. I went slightly north to University of Kansas for my bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders. When the winters weren’t cold enough, I decided to give University of Minnesota a try for my master’s in Speech Language Pathology. You could say I was hooked and haven’t left since! I am licensed with Minnesota Department of Education and Minnesota Department of Health. I also hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

In my free time, you can find me exploring Saint Paul with my husband, our two lively daughters, and our energetic goldendoodle, Otis.
